Checking Out the Changes in Acura’s 2009 TSX

by Aidan Busbee

Acura vehicles have made a name for themselves as technologically advanced products with a combination of luxury and performance. In designing the new 2009 TSX, the luxury division was obviously intent on luring more buyers away from other entry level sedans by incorporating more mainstream features into the design.

Basically, the TSX (in previous years as well as the 2009) is a European Honda Accord with a really well done facelift. This facelift offers more luxury content; fulfilling the expectations of car shoppers looking in the entry level sport luxury sedan segment. The practice of redoing the European Accord model has worked well in previous years for the TSX; its introduction was met with popularity due to its sporty look and adept handling that set it apart in its class.

The 2009 TSX has less of a sporty look, but more of the luxury consumers are looking for in this segment. The new TSX gives cause for celebration with its increased levels of comfort, refinement and luxury throughout the car in a wide variety of features and options.

Accelerating from a standstill to 60 mph in the 2009 Acura TSX takes just over 7 seconds; the vehicle produces power across a broader rpm segment than its predecessor and comes in as one of the cleanest cars in its segment. The ultra low emission vehicle rating attracts nearly as many new interested enthusiasts as the high performance at the pump (21 mpg city/29 mpg highway).

The TSX has always been known for its adept handling at its been improved upon for the 2009 model. For 2009, the TSX offers independent double wishbones front and rear; to take great care of balance across the vehicle (with 60/40 front to rear weight distribution these are things you have to consider!)

The new 2009 offers a lot more for those looking to indulge in a bit of luxury without losing the most popular aspects of previous models. For more information visit your nearest Acura dealer and test drive one today!
