How To Find The Best Resale Rights Offers

You see them everywhere these days… on membership websites, as packaged offers, as giveaways, and even as bonuses for certain offers. We’re taking about MRR and PLR products.

PLR refers to private label rights, or the license that would enable the holder to alter or modify the contents of the same and even include his name as the author thereof and MRR refers to Master Resell Rights, which allow the holder to resell for 100% of the profits.

Understanding the Abbreviations

MRR = Master Resell Rights

PLR = Private Label Rights

Resale rights and resell are sometimes used interchangeably.

Normally, PLR products also come with master resale rights, or the license to see the resale rights of the same products, provided that they are significantly altered from their original form.

They‘ve become excellent alternatives to actually creating your own products as well as to spending hundreds of dollars to hire a ghost-writer.

You won’t have to spend lots of time, money and efforts in preparing some products to sell. And since these resale rights products will be sold to quite a number of people, the cost of purchasing them can be kept at a minimum.

The surging popularity of PLR and MRR products can be attributed to a variety of reasons. Let’s take a look at them.

•PLR and MRR products are more affordable alternatives to actually preparing your own goods. Since PLR and MRR products are sold to a lot of people, the cost is shared in common by the would-be purchasers. 100 PLR articles, for example, can cost you around $15 to $10,whereas hiring a ghostwriter to prepare the same amount of articles would set you back around $500 to $1,500 in investment expenses.

•PLR products give you the liberty equivalent to that of the creator’s. You could, technically speaking, do whatever you want with the PLR products you have purchased.

•PLR and MRR products will save you a lot of time. They’re already there, ready to be utilized. You won’t have to start from the ground up.

So what sort of products can you get with master resell rights? Absolutely anything!

For example: Let’s say you have a dating website – this particular visitor is most likely not interested in resell rights, in fact they probably don’t even know what it is or even how to use it.

Private label rights are usually much more expensive then just master resell rights because private label rights gives you the opportunity to change the content within the book or software to however you please, making the content more “original” and “one of a kind” and allows to place your name on it as the author.

Here is where it can get a bit confusing…Private Label Rights with Master Resell Rights.

What does this mean?

Depending on the license agreement you received from the creator, you can also buy Private label rights that include Master Resell rights.

This is where most people get “confused”.

Simply, this means you not only have the right to change the information within the book and place your name as the author but you can also pass on the license and give the next person resell rights to the content as well.

Not all Private label rights will come with a master resell license. And some may have a stipulation that you can only sell master resell rights to the private label rights content if you change a certain percentage of the “original raw content” – For example: they may request 60% of the content must be changed in order to sell Master Resell Rights.

What can you “expect” to receive with Master Resell Rights? Usually, in master resell rights, the creator does not allow you or anyone else to edit the content within the book and is offered in a“as is” type condition.

Master Resell Rights may include the following:

The creator may offer a sales page included with the book.

The creator may offer graphics e.g., eBook covers, banners, order now buttons, background images and any other promotional graphics.

They may allow you to package their e-book with your other e-books.

They may allow you to include their book as a bonus.

They may have a certain “price value”. For example – you may not be allowed to sell under a certain dollar value – I’ve even seen some come with a “minimum” dollar value e.g.- Not allowed to sell the item below $27.

They may even allow you to give it away for free. Always check the license agreement, as this is the only 100% way to be sure of what you can do with the resale item you bought.

Some creators may have some obscure conditions to their “offer” of their master resell rights item. They can choose to place any restriction they wish upon the item.

If you are ever in doubt of what you can do with the creator’s product – send them e-mail! It’s better than getting a slap around the wrist or even worse a notice from their lawyer for breeching your license agreement.

Traffic Tactic -Blog - Fast SE Rankings

If you run a site and are looking to get it listed quickly on
search engines, there really is no easier and quicker way than
to also put a blog on the site. It is a known fact that search
engine spiders from sites like Google and Altavista list new
blogs much faster than they list new sites. However, it’s not as
simple as just creating a blog and letting it sit there. You
have to also use tactics like pinging, linking and the use of
keywords. We’ll go over each so that you are able to effectively
use your blog for a quick site listing. We’ll also briefly go
over how to host your own blog on your site.

So how do I host my own blog, anyway?

The easiest way to do this is to install and run a blogging
software from another company on your web site’s server. One
such software that is popular is WordPress. It’s fairly easy to
install and works pretty good on your site. Other blogging
software options include:

Apache Roller
Blosxom
Geeklog
Textpattern
LifeType

Whatever one you choose, be sure to follow the instructions
provided by the company so that the installation goes smoothly.

Where should I put my blog on my site?

Most people who host their blog to help their site get listed
quickly don’t put the blog on the main page of the site, because
the site isn’t all about the blog. Instead they put it in its
own folder at iconsclub.com/blog/. But you can really put your blog
anywhere on your site, so it’s your call.

What is pinging?

It’s a question that many ask, so don’t feel silly if you don’t
know what pinging is. Pinging is essentially a tracking program
installed on your blog that will notify the site which it is
from whenever your blog is updated. Search engine spiders
usually visit newly pinged sites most often, which is why
pinging is such a crucial part of the equation to get your site
listed quickly. Sites that are newly "pinged" will be visited by
search engine spiders. A visit from the spider equals a listing
on the search engine.

How do I get pinging on my blog?

You’ll have to register with a site that offers weblog pinging.
The most popular pinging program around is weblogs.com. Other
programs offered include Yahoo’s Blo.gs, BlogRolling, and
Technorati. Once you’ve decided on a pinging service, you’ll
have to follow the instructions to install it on your blog. When
you’ve done that, your blog will start getting pinged and
visited by search engine spiders.

What is linking?

Linking is basically having another blog or site link to your
blog. When search engine spiders visit that site and see a link
to your site, they’ll visit your site. Linking is effective both
for sites with blogs and those without it.

How do I get linking?

You get it by visiting sites/blogs that are relevant to what
your site is about. Then you contact the owners of those
sites/blogs, asking them to post a link to your site on their
site. In return, you will probably have to link to their site on
your site. That way, both of you are able to benefit from the
linking.

Why is the use of keywords important to my blog?

Spiders love to visit sites with a good amount of keywords.
People who read your site won’t mind the use of keywords if they
are lightly spread throughout the content of your pages. The key
to this is to make a list of keywords relevant to your blog
posting and then to try to use those keywords throughout your
content. It is important to make sure, however, not to overuse
keywords. Spiders have been trained to ignore sites with
excessive amounts of keywords, so if you use a whole lot of
keywords in the hopes of getting spiders to visit your site,
it’s not going to do you any good. Generally speaking, using
between 2-6 keywords per 200 word piece of content is a good
ratio. It’s pleasing to both readers and search engine spiders.

That’s really all there is to it. Apply the above techniques to
your blog and you will net your site a quick search engine
listing.

Sell Your Site?

5 steps to plan for profits.

Step #1  Get Ready To Say Goodbye Before You Say Hello

Assuming you are intending to make a profit from your membership site, an exit plan will be an integral part of your business plan right from the beginning. Every step you take to develop your business will take you a little closer to selling your membership site.

There are three elements that make up your exit plan;

1. Timescale for exit.

2. Exit option.  For most membership sites this will be a simple trade sale.  For offline businesses, other options may be a family succession or a sole trader merger, but these are not common with online businesses.

3. The identification of potential obstacles to selling your site and how you intend to deal with these.

Step #2  Structure your business to make it easy to sell

If you know from the start that you will eventually sell your membership site, you can structure it to make this a simple and profitable process for you.

Tax relief

Tax laws vary greatly by country, so it is advisable to check tax relief legislation locally when you start your business.  The length of time you own your membership site, as well as the type of ownership, and the type of products and services you offer can impact whether you are entitled to tax relief on the profit you make from your site.

Co-owners

If you are the sole owner of your membership site, selling it will be a relatively simple matter.  If however you have co-owners, no matter how small their share, you need to give some thought to them when you put together your exit strategy.  In this case your exit plan will have a shareholder strategy detailing the following points:

• Agreement on how each co-owner’s share will be valued on sale.

• Agreement as to whether any co-owner must offer the other co-owners the option to buy their share before they sell it to a third party.

• Agreement on what will happen to smaller shareowners if the majority owner decides to sell.

Having a business structure in place that makes your site ready to sell will ensure a smooth and speedy sale.  If you spend time trying to sort out tax affairs and obtain co-owner agreement at the time of the sale, you may well deter your potential buyers from completing the transaction.

Step #3  Time really is everything

Your site will be of the most value when business is booming.  If your membership numbers are growing, your profits are increasing and your subject is gaining in popularity, it might be the perfect time to sell.  It is a good idea to set ourselves targets that will determine a good time to sell.

The targets you set for your membership could include the following:

• A certain yearly revenue
• A fixed number of members
• A particular rate of growth

Step #4  Determine how much your site is worth?

Method 1) Price to earnings ratio

This is a reasonably simple way to come up with an indicative value for your membership site.   Calculate the future maintainable profits of your membership site.  Once you know the maintainable profits of your business you need to decide how many years’ profits your membership site is worth

Method 2) Cost to rebuild

This method values your site based on what it would cost you to build it from scratch at the time of sale.  Some of the factors to include are:

• Cost of actually creating the site, hiring a programmer, buying the domain name etc.
• Cost of hiring a ghostwriter to write all the content
• Cost for the working hours you have put into the site
• Cost of any software you have used
• Cost of advertising
• Cost of hosting the site
• Cost for your customer list

Other factors to consider when valuing your site include:

• Your target audience
• Your revenue streams
• Your site traffic
• Age and reputation  of your site
• Your domain name
• Customer loyalty
• Customer list

Step #5  Preparing to sell your membership site, successfully.

Before you put your site on the market, it is worth spending some time drawing up a detailed memorandum of sale.  This may take some time and effort, but it prepares you for the selling process and answers many of the questions your potential buyers are going to ask.

Here are some of the elements that you might include in your memorandum of sale:

• Business description
• What is included
• Requirements for business
• Breakdown of profits
• Asking price
• Statistics

It may be difficult to consider selling your site before it’s even begun but consider this… YouTube was launched in 2005, and within two years was bought by Google for an alleged $1.65 billion.  I bet they had an exit plan in place!
